
The dance ensemble of Szeged was founded in 1955 with the aim of preserving the history and living traditions of the city of Szeged – located in the south of Hungary, close to the border with Romania and Serbia. For decades, the group has been involved in the cultural, artistic and community life of the town. Its members, especially the children and youngsters, sensitize the students of the city to the culture and traditions of the region, through dance classes and playful activities. It is the second time that the Rencontres de folklore internationales de Fribourg welcome this group, who already took part in the RFI in 1984.
