GRUPO DE DANZAS FOLCLÓRICAS DE LA UTN
In 1986, several students from the Universidad Tecnica del Norte (UTN) of Ibarra formed the dance group of the UTN. Since then, Professor Ramiro Males, the director of the group, has been active in preserving and defending the culture of the small villages of his country. The dance group of the UTN will be accompanied by an orchestra composed of violins and traditional instruments from the Andes – string and wind instruments, as well as percussions. Over the years, the group’s repertoire has been extended to other regions of the country, in order to represent the cultural richness of the whole country of Ecuador.
