The folklore group " Roudelet-Felibren " exists since 1927 and its folklore comes directly from the soil of Marseille, more precisely from Château-Gombert. The group has the particularity of being composed of several families and its artists are all polyvalent between dance, music and singing.
Rich of its culture and traditions, this group draws its repertoire from the sea. Some of the dances are of Greek origin and others are inspired by the sailing ships of more recent centuries. Others, carried by the waves and the merchants, originated in England. There are also court dances from the 17th century that speak of love, sometimes courteous, sometimes naughty.
Among the choreographies that the public will easily recognize are the farandole and the harlequines. The dancers accompany their dances with the tambourine and the galoubet, a three-hole recorder. The costumes are mostly reconstructions of clothes that were worn in Marseille in the mid-19th century and represent the different social classes of the time.
