
The Rebulir Ensemble from the northwest of Spain represents the popular folklore of Galicia, which has Celtic influences. The typical dances performed with raised arms – such as the Muiñeira in 6/8 time or the Jota – tell stories about ceremonies and everyday life. The dancers are accompanied by the tambourine, the Spanish bagpipe called Gaita and, last but not least, the women’s energetic singing in Galician. The traditional costumes have been faithfully recreated from the garments of the time.
