AFS FRANCE MAROLT
The Academic Folk Group France Marolt was created in 1948 by the founder of the same name, in the capital of Slovenia. Since then, the association has been committed to retrieving traditional dances and songs with the support of ethnologists, preserving them, and making them known in its country and beyond the borders. Great importance is attached to the reconstruction of the costumes: they are made using traditional tailoring techniques and natural materials, based on the originals from collections and museums. AFS France Marolt has been awarded the title of Slovenia’s best foklore group in 2019.
